The Work
You will create realistic backend development and bug-fix tasks for AI systems to solve. You will then build reliable checks that accept valid solutions and reject incorrect or incomplete code.
The work combines backend engineering, code review, debugging, performance analysis, and testing judgment.
- Create backend feature-development and software bug-fix tasks.
- Build deterministic verifiers for checking whether AI-generated solutions are correct and complete.
- Review code for correctness, performance, testing quality, and maintainability.
- Identify software bugs, system bottlenecks, and performance issues.
- Refactor code and implement complex features in large-scale applications.
- Create challenging, realistic examples for training AI systems.
What It Pays and Takes
Professional backend development experience and strong software engineering judgment are required.
- $30 to $100 per hour equivalent, paid per task that meets the project specifications.
- Less than 20 hours per week.
- Open to candidates in AE, AR, AT, BD, BE, BH, BR, CA, CH, CL, CO, DE, DK, DZ, EG, ES, FR, GB, GH, GR, ID, IN, IT, JO, JP, KE, KG, KW, KZ, LB, LK, MA, MX, MY, NG, NL, OM, PE, PH, PK, PS, PT, QA, SA, SG, TH, TN, TW, US, UZ, VN, and ZA.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Professional backend development experience with Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++, or a similar language.
- Experience building scalable services and APIs.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Experience with service or feature test strategy, large automated test suites, flaky tests, testing practices, or CI test pipelines is helpful.
- Public or private work showing strong software engineering ability is helpful.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
About AI Training Work
AI training is the human work behind systems that learn from examples, including code tasks and expert reviews of model responses. People with software engineering knowledge help assess whether AI-generated code is correct, useful, and reliable, which is why specialist work can command higher rates.
