The Work
You will provide specialized feedback for AI systems by reviewing non-destructive testing inspection materials. Your work will use established industry codes and acceptance criteria to assess real-world inspection results.
- Analyze radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, and phased-array inspection results.
- Evaluate magnetic particle and penetrant indications, weld flaws, and component conditions.
- Review inspection data and recommend dispositions using applicable code-based acceptance criteria.
- Assess thermographic imagery or remote visual inspection footage when an assignment requires it.
- Write clear technical reports that explain findings, reasoning, and recommended actions.
- Work asynchronously with technical peers to resolve complex or unclear indications.
- Help improve evaluation protocols using industry practices and changing compliance requirements.
What It Pays and Takes
This is a remote, part-time contractor engagement. US-based professionals are preferred, and the role is open to candidates in the countries listed for the project.
- Pay: $60 per hour.
- Certification: An active ASNT or ISO 9712 NDT Level II or Level III certification is required.
- Relevant methods include radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, phased-array ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and penetrant testing.
- At least eight years of direct experience interpreting radiographs, ultrasonic or phased-array scans, magnetic particle or penetrant indications, and related NDT data.
- Relevant inspection experience includes oil and gas, petrochemical, or power-sector work.
- Working knowledge of ASME Sections V, VIII, and XI; API 510, 570, 653, and 1104; and AWS D1.1.
- Strong judgment for accept or reject decisions involving code-based weld defect criteria.
- Clear written and verbal communication, detailed technical documentation skills, and the ability to work independently with objective, quality-focused judgment.
- Experience with thermography or remote visual inspection data is useful for assignments involving varied inspection scenarios.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
About AI Training Work
AI training is the human work behind modern AI systems, including reviewing examples, rating model outputs, and giving expert feedback. People with specialized professional knowledge help models handle technical subjects more accurately and consistently.
