The Work
You will help evaluate how well AI systems understand mechanical design. The work uses complex, multi-part CAD assemblies and requires you to create difficult technical questions, check answers against CAD models, and explain the reasoning clearly.
- Analyze assemblies to identify design intent, constraints, critical decisions, and possible failure points.
- Write challenging technical questions about mechanical design and assembly behavior.
- Validate answers directly from CAD models and document clear reasoning and traceability.
- Review AI-generated answers for inaccurate or incomplete mechanical reasoning.
- Recommend focused improvements and refine questions that are unclear or cannot be answered.
- Document edge cases and areas where reviewers disagree.
What It Pays and Takes
This is a remote, part-time contractor role for someone with substantial mechanical design experience and strong written English. The work is open to candidates in the countries listed below.
- Pay: $40 to $90 per hour.
- Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week, or less than 20 hours per week.

- Technical knowledge: Design intent, assembly reasoning, mechanisms, kinematics, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and tolerance judgment.
- Relevant background: Industrial machinery, robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, consumer products, or tooling and fixture design.
- Helpful experience: Teaching, mentoring, leading design reviews, or coaching engineering teams.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
About AI Training Work
AI training is the human work behind systems that learn from examples, including reviewing model answers and rating their quality. Experienced professionals are needed for specialist work because they can judge whether technical reasoning is accurate, complete, and useful.
