The work
You will review electronics manufacturing and inspection materials used to train AI systems. The work combines electronics quality judgment with structured evaluation of manufacturability, compliance, defects, and inspection results.
The role focuses on electronics quality and inspection work. Review the duties and qualifications carefully before applying.
- Review PCB CAM and Gerber files for manufacturability, quality, and compliance with industry standards.
- Inspect PCB assemblies and wire harness builds using IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 criteria.
- Analyze SMT and AOI defect types, identify false calls, and assess root causes and remediation options.
- Evaluate counterfeit electronic parts using AS6081 risk indicators and mitigation principles.
- Interpret C-SAM and X-ray inspection results for semiconductor packages, including die inspection and MIL-STD-883 checks.
- Write concise reports and explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Help refine AI training workflows and datasets through structured evaluation.
What it pays and takes
This is a remote, part-time contractor role. The work is open to candidates in the listed countries, with US-based candidates preferred.
- Pay: $60 per hour.
- Time: Less than 20 hours per week.
- Language: Professional fluency in English.
- At least eight years of hands-on experience in electronics quality, CAM engineering, or failure analysis.
- Practical experience with PCB assembly, wire harnesses, or semiconductor packaging.
- Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 inspection criteria.
- Experience reviewing Gerber data and using PCB CAM software for quality and manufacturability assessment.
- Proficiency with SMT processes, AOI defect analysis, counterfeit component screening under AS6081, C-SAM, X-ray inspection, and MIL-STD-883 procedures.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting and explaining technical findings.
- IPC CIS or CIT certification is strongly preferred.
- Prior AI training or data-labeling experience is not required.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
About AI training work
AI training is the human work behind systems that learn from examples. Specialists review documents, images, audio, code, or model outputs and turn their judgment into organized feedback, so people with deep electronics expertise can help improve how AI handles technical material.
