The work
Use professional engineering judgment to create realistic material for testing how AI models reason about engineering work. You will explain your decisions and assess whether model answers meet technical, code, and safety standards.
- Write scenarios about engineering design, review, and approval decisions.
- Create reference answers that explain relevant code requirements and safety reasoning.
- Rate AI outputs for technical accuracy and code compliance.
- Flag designs that seem plausible but do not meet engineering or safety standards.
- Document the reasoning behind professional engineering decisions.
What it pays and takes
This is remote, asynchronous contractor work with ongoing project tasks. There are no fixed hours, and the workload can be adjusted.
- Pay: $105 to $190 per hour, paid weekly via Stripe.
- Time: At least 20 hours per week.
- Location: Remote; candidates must be based in an eligible country.
- Required: An active Professional Engineer license in at least one US state.
- Required: At least two years of professional practice in an engineering discipline.
- Required: Experience with design review and responsible charge of engineering work.
- Required: Clear written English for documenting technical reasoning.
- Helpful: PE licenses in multiple states; experience with plan review, permitting, or expert witness work; or expertise in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
