The work
You will design realistic engineering projects that span mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, and manufacturing disciplines. Your work will help improve how AI systems plan, execute, integrate, test, and validate complex engineering activities.
- Define project objectives, technical requirements, constraints, and measurable acceptance criteria.
- Break complex projects into connected expert tasks with clear inputs, deliverables, dependencies, and responsibilities.
- Apply systems engineering principles to interface management, system integration, verification, and validation.
- Coordinate contributions from domain experts so each workflow has clear technical objectives and evaluation criteria.
What it pays and takes
- Pay: $150 to $300 per hour.
- Work model: Remote contractor role with part-time engagement.
- Location: Open to candidates in the countries listed for this role. US-based engineers are preferred.
- Language: English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Required experience: Substantial experience as a Principal Systems Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, or comparable technical leader on complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Required skills: Requirements engineering, interface management, system integration, and verification and validation.
- Helpful background: A relevant master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Valued experience: Model-based systems engineering, SysML, requirements management tools, and leading projects from initial requirements through integration, testing, and delivery.
