The work
Create realistic plumbing service scenarios and reference answers that show how to diagnose problems and choose repairs. Evaluate AI-generated answers for code compliance, safety, and workmanship.
- Write scenarios covering symptoms, diagnosis, repair decisions, and practical trade reasoning.
- Explain diagnostic steps and the plumbing code basis for a recommended fix.
- Flag plausible but dangerous advice, such as recommendations that could flood a basement or contaminate a water line.
- Use practical knowledge from residential service, commercial plumbing, or new construction.
What it pays and takes
- $50 to $90 per hour, with weekly payment via Stripe.
- Remote contractor work for professionals located in the United States.
- Plan to commit 20 or more hours per week; workload can vary from week to week.
- An active journeyman or master plumber license in a US state or jurisdiction is required.
- At least two years of field experience beyond apprenticeship is required.
- You need a working knowledge of plumbing codes such as UPC or IPC and the ability to explain diagnostic reasoning clearly in written English.
Helpful experience
Experience in commercial plumbing, new construction, medical gas, backflow, estimating, inspection, or apprentice training can be useful. Plumbers from any specialty are welcome if they can make sound judgments and explain the reasoning behind a fix.
