The work
As a Physics Quality Assurance Lead, you will review AI-generated physics content and quality-assurance work across physics training projects. You will assess scientific accuracy, physical reasoning, calculations, units, formulas, clarity, formatting, and adherence to instructions.
You will also help improve review quality across the project by identifying recurring issues, updating guidance, supporting onboarding, and coordinating with trainers and other quality reviewers.
- Review physics explanations, calculations, diagrams, derivations, experimental interpretations, and step-by-step reasoning.
- Evaluate submissions against project guidelines and project-specific rubrics.
- Identify incorrect assumptions, formula errors, unit and sign-convention mistakes, flawed reasoning, impossible claims, and misleading explanations.
- Give precise written feedback that helps contributors meet project requirements.
- Coordinate workflow updates and physics-specific quality expectations with trainers and other reviewers.
- Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, examples, test cases, onboarding materials, and other quality documentation.
- Support contributor activation and follow up on availability issues.
- Run training calls for physics contributors.
What it pays and takes
This is a remote contractor role for candidates in India and the United States. The work requires strong English communication for written feedback and team coordination.
- Pay: $20 to $75 per hour.
- Time: 20 or more hours per week.
- Location: Remote; open to candidates in India and the United States.
- Education: A degree in physics, applied physics, engineering physics, astrophysics, mathematics, engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Experience: At least 3 years in physics research, teaching, tutoring, laboratory work, science writing, academic review, engineering analysis, or a related scientific workflow.
- Knowledge of classical mechanics, electromagnetism, waves, optics, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, quantum mechanics, relativity, units, dimensional analysis, and mathematical modeling.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Experience with AI training, data annotation, large language model evaluation, scientific quality assurance, academic review, or rubric-based review is helpful.
- Helpful tools and background include Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, LaTeX, laboratory methods, data analysis, simulations, scientific visualization, numerical methods, and remote team support.
- Comfort with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems is helpful.

About AI training work
AI training is the human work behind systems that learn from examples. People review and prepare content, rate model responses, and check accuracy so AI systems produce more useful results; subject experts are especially important for specialized work such as physics review.
