The work
You will help improve AI systems by applying practical knowledge of computational, physical, or theoretical physics. Your work will focus on creating expert-level problems, reviewing model responses, and explaining what would make those responses more accurate and useful to physicists.
- Create physics problems and scenarios based on simulation, modeling, and computational workflows.
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, numerical rigor, and fit with real physics workflows.
- Write structured feedback that helps improve AI model performance.
- Explain complex physics concepts clearly and pay close attention to detail.
- Complete project tasks independently in a remote, asynchronous setting.
What it pays and takes
This is ongoing, project-based contract work that can be done alongside another role. The opportunity is intended for people with advanced physics training or closely related experience.
- Pay: Up to $125 per hour for eligible work.
- Schedule: Part time, with a 20+ hour per week time requirement and no set schedule stated.
- Location: Remote and open to candidates in the United States.
- Education: A master's or PhD in physics or a related field.
- Alternative qualification: A master's degree combined with relevant industry experience may also qualify.
- Communication: Strong written communication and the ability to explain complex physics concepts clearly.
- Work style: Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Helpful background: Large-scale simulations on high-performance computing clusters, multiple scientific computing environments, lattice methods, or other specialized physics techniques.
