The work
Create and evaluate difficult technical problems based on your STEM research area. Each problem should include realistic constraints and supporting data, with a defensible solution and clear reasoning.
- Set objective criteria so another researcher can judge whether an answer is correct.
- Review problems from other contributors for technical accuracy and sound methods.
- Flag problems that are ambiguous, cannot be graded reliably, or are otherwise unsuitable for evaluation.
- Identify plausible but incorrect approaches and explain subtle errors.
What it pays and takes
- Pay: $45 to $90 per hour.
- Open to candidates in: United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Switzerland, Chile, Colombia, Germany, Denmark, Algeria, Egypt, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Ghana.

- Also open to candidates in: Oman, Peru, Philippines, Pakistan, Palestinian territories, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Tunisia, Taiwan, United States, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, South Africa.
- Fluent in English.
- A completed PhD in a STEM field is required, along with hands-on research experience in wet-lab, academic, industrial, national lab, computational, or theoretical work.
- You must be able to explain and support your technical judgments so another researcher can verify them. Strong judgment about constraints and subtle errors is important.
- Publications or another record of research contribution are an advantage. AI training, model evaluation, or expert data project experience is helpful but not required.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
The hiring platform's application for this job asks for your resume, your LinkedIn profile, your phone number, your location and answers to 8 screening questions.
