The work
You will help improve AI systems by creating mechanical design scenarios and reviewing AI-generated answers. Your feedback will show whether proposed work is technically accurate, practical to manufacture, and aligned with professional engineering practice.
The work is remote and project-based. You will complete tasks independently at a flexible pace while applying judgment from real mechanical design and production work.
- Create expert-level scenarios involving CAD, tolerancing, manufacturing, and engineering workflows.
- Review AI-generated responses for technical accuracy and manufacturability.
- Write structured feedback that helps improve AI model performance.
- Assess work involving parametric CAD, GD&T, design for manufacturing, FEA, and simulation.
- Use practical experience to explain complex mechanical concepts clearly.
What it pays and takes
This is an ongoing contract and part-time opportunity that can be taken on alongside a current role. The work has no set schedule, and the listing calls for 20 or more hours per week.
- Pay: Up to $47 per hour.
- Work arrangement: Remote, flexible, asynchronous, and project-based.
- Location: Open to candidates in the United States.
- Language: Fluent English.
- Experience: Senior-level mechanical design experience with hands-on work and a portfolio of manufactured designs.
- Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with practical industry experience.
- Technical background: Strong experience in parametric CAD, GD&T and design for manufacturing, or FEA and simulation.
- Communication: Strong written communication, careful attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical ideas clearly.
- Helpful experience: Multiple CAD platforms or simulation environments, including SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, or Onshape.
