The work
You will create accurate, traceable SysML v2 models from engineering requirements and assess AI-generated models against clear technical standards. The work combines model-based systems engineering, requirements interpretation, architecture review, and structured feedback.
The initial pilot is expected to run about 4 weeks to 3 months. Work is organized by project or task, and the workload depends on project needs.
- Translate engineering requirements into technically accurate SysML v2 models.
- Create reference solutions and example system architectures for AI evaluation tasks.
- Create, review, and validate system models with graphical or textual modeling tools.
- Develop rubrics for judging the correctness and quality of AI-generated SysML v2 models.
- Review model outputs and provide structured feedback based on MBSE best practices.
- Use requirements specifications, Concepts of Operations, Interface Control Documents, and architecture documentation to guide modeling decisions.
- Communicate asynchronously to clarify deliverables and resolve technical questions.
What it pays and takes
This is a remote, part-time contractor engagement for candidates in the countries specified for the role. English is required for the technical documentation, model review, and written communication.
- Pay: $55 to $120 per hour.
- Time: Less than 20 hours per week.
- Location: Remote; open to candidates in the listed countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, India, Japan, France, Germany, Brazil, Singapore, and South Africa.
- Language: Professional fluency in English.
- Experience: Professional systems engineering or MBSE experience is required.
- SysML: Hands-on SysML v1 experience and exposure to SysML v2, or demonstrated SysML v2 modeling experience.
- Knowledge: Requirements engineering, system architecture, requirements traceability, systems modeling tools, and MBSE methods.
- Communication: Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Helpful background
Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or comparable MBSE tools is useful. Familiarity with graphical or textual SysML v2 environments also supports the work.
- Experience with Concepts of Operations, Interface Control Documents, model verification, evaluation rubric development, or model quality assessment.
- Background in aerospace, space, defense, automotive, maritime, or communications engineering.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, or data-driven engineering projects.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
The hiring platform's application for this job asks for your resume, your LinkedIn profile, your phone number, your location and answers to 8 screening questions.
