The work
Create challenging mathematics problems based on proofs, formal methods, and computational workflows. Review AI-generated answers for accuracy, rigor, and how well they reflect mathematical practice.
You will also spot gaps in proofs and reasoning, including problems AI models struggle to formalize, and write clear, structured feedback.
- Work across areas such as algebra, topology, number theory, combinatorics, optimization, and numerical analysis.
- Complete project tasks remotely and asynchronously, at your own pace.
What it pays and takes
- Pay: Up to $47 per hour.
- Commitment: 20+ hours per week; the work is part-time and flexible.
- Location: Open to candidates in India.
- Language: Fluent in English.
- Education: A PhD in pure or applied mathematics, or equivalent evidence of advanced mathematical research expertise.
- Experience: First-author research publications and experience formalizing challenging proofs.
- Skills: Deep knowledge of proof and formal methods and at least one listed area of mathematics; clear written communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Helpful experience: Lean, Coq, Isabelle, SageMath, Mathematica, or work formalizing proofs and tackling problems at the edge of current AI capabilities.
