The work
Create expert evaluation materials that test whether AI models can make sound decisions about materials in professional settings.
- Write realistic scenarios covering material selection through failure analysis.
- Provide reference answers and explain the structure-property reasoning behind each decision.
- Rate model recommendations for technical accuracy, practical feasibility, and suitability for real service conditions.
- Flag recommendations that sound plausible but would fail in service. Work may draw on metals, polymers, ceramics, or semiconductors.
What it pays and takes
- Pay: $100 to $130 per hour, paid weekly via Stripe.
- Hours: At least 10 hours per week; no stated maximum. Work is asynchronous with no fixed schedule, and hours can vary from week to week.
- Location: Fully remote and open to candidates in eligible countries.
- Language: English required.
- Requirements: A degree in materials science and engineering or a closely related field; at least 2 years of professional materials engineering or research and development experience; deep expertise in at least one materials class; and clear technical writing skills.
