The Work
You will design challenging scientific reasoning tasks for AI evaluation. Each task should use a realistic research setting and test whether an AI system can interpret evidence, validate conclusions, recognize ambiguity, and connect findings across a life sciences problem.
You will turn experimental results, biological data, figures, sequences, structures, and literature-style evidence into clear questions and rigorous reference answers. Tasks must be self-contained, reproducible where appropriate, and supported by defensible scientific reasoning.
You will also review biological claims, calculations, assumptions, and conclusions; identify alternative interpretations; and use reviewer feedback to improve quality while maintaining throughput.
- Create novel, graduate-level problems grounded in realistic life sciences research.
- Write precise questions and reference answers based on rigorous scientific reasoning.
- Interpret experiments, datasets, figures, sequences, structures, and other biological evidence.
- Identify questions that are ambiguous or insufficiently constrained.
- Document tasks clearly and incorporate reviewer feedback.
What It Pays And Takes
The listing does not provide a pay rate. This is a remote contractor assignment with a one-month duration. The role requires advanced life sciences research ability even though the structured listing marks the experience level as entry level.
- Pay: Not provided in the listing.
- Work arrangement: Remote contractor assignment.
- Duration: One month.
- Time commitment: The structured listing records 20+ hours per week; the role details require at least 40 hours per week and at least eight hours per day.
- Schedule requirement: At least four hours of overlap with Pacific Time.
- Language: English.
- Required background: Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, or equivalent advanced research experience in the life sciences.
- Required expertise: Strong knowledge in at least one biological discipline, plus experience interpreting experiments, data, and research findings.
- Required skills: Scientific writing, precision, and the ability to turn complex scientific concepts into clear, self-contained questions.
- Helpful experience: Graduate-level assessment design, research exercises, manuscript review, AI response evaluation, machine learning evaluation datasets, peer-reviewed research, teaching, or mentoring.
Relevant Life Sciences Backgrounds
Relevant expertise may come from molecular biology, genetics and genomics, cell biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, microbiology, immunology, evolutionary biology, ecology, structural biology, biophysics, developmental biology, cancer biology, pharmacology, or a related life sciences discipline.
