The work
You will support AI training by manually reviewing laser shearography evidence used in aerospace inspection. Your work will turn expert NDT judgment into clear, detailed evaluations of composite material defects.
The role includes reviewing technical records and explaining the reasoning behind each inspection decision. You will work remotely and communicate with project managers and technical stakeholders.
- Analyze laser shearography data, fringe patterns, and optical interferometry results.
- Identify and characterize defects in composite materials.
- Review case papers, test logs, inspection limits, and applicable NDT standards.
- Evaluate defect type, severity, root causes, and possible effects on composite structures.
- Write detailed feedback on inspection findings and help refine technical protocols.
- Complete assessments through manual inspection without using AI tools.
What it pays and takes
This is a part-time contractor role for an experienced NDT specialist. No previous AI experience is required, but strong hands-on expertise in laser shearography and advanced composite inspection is required.
- Pay: $60 to $100 per hour.
- Work type: Remote, part-time contract work.
- Location: Open to candidates in AE, AR, AT, BD, BE, BH, BR, CA, CH, CL, CO, DE, DK, DZ, EG, ES, FR, GB, GH, GR, ID, IN, IT, JO, JP, KE, KG, KW, KZ, LB, LK, MA, MX, MY, NG, NL, OM, PE, PH, PK, PS, PT, QA, SA, SG, TH, TN, TW, US, UZ, VN, and ZA.
- Language: Professional fluency in English.
- Certification: Current ASNT, NAS 410, or ISO 9712 Level II or Level III certification in laser shearography or a related NDT method.
- Required skills: Laser shearography, aerospace or advanced composite inspection, fringe-pattern interpretation, optical interferometry, defect evaluation, root cause analysis, technical reporting, and professional communication.
- Helpful background: Composite-material NDI practices, technical guidance, quality engineering, or direct inspection and review work.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
The hiring platform's application for this job asks for your resume, your LinkedIn profile, your phone number, your location and answers to 5 screening questions.
About AI training work
AI training is the human work behind systems that learn from examples, including reviewing documents and rating model outputs. Experienced specialists are needed when the work depends on careful professional judgment, technical standards, and accurate explanations.
