The Work
You will create realistic KiCad tasks based on electronics engineering, prototyping, repair, and hardware development. You will document each task, prepare the project environment, record yourself completing the workflow, and review the final submission for accuracy and completeness.
- Create challenging KiCad tasks with clear context, goals, circuit details, project files, component notes, and references.
- Prepare KiCad projects with the required software, libraries, schematic references, files, and other assets.
- Demonstrate schematic capture, component placement, footprint assignment, PCB routing, layer management, and project organization.
- Use symbols, nets, vias, zones, ERC and DRC checks, symbol or footprint editing, and other KiCad features.
- Generate Gerber and drill files, troubleshoot issues, and show practical electronics design workflows.
- Record your computer workflow clearly and review the recording and documentation before submission.
What It Pays and Takes
This is a remote, part-time contractor role. The role is listed at entry level, but you must have hands-on KiCad experience and be able to follow detailed project guidelines independently.
- Pay: $20 per hour.
- Time: 20 or more hours per week.
- Work location: Open to candidates in Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan.
- Language: English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Required: Practical experience with KiCad schematics, PCB layout, footprints, routing, design-rule checks, Gerber export, or related electronics workflows.
- Required: Understanding of symbols, nets, layers, vias, zones, libraries, ERC and DRC checks, and fabrication outputs.
- Required: Ability to manage project files, prepare reproducible starting states, navigate engineering software, and record computer workflows.
- Required: Careful attention to detail, reliable self-direction, and consistent use of detailed project guidelines.
- Helpful background: Electronics, electrical engineering, embedded systems, hardware prototyping, CAD, or technical documentation.
