The work
You will prepare drone and maritime sensor imagery for AI and machine-learning systems. The work starts with still images and may expand to video-frame annotation as the project develops.
You will work in a secure Navy environment, apply image-labeling guidelines, and record unclear cases so questions can be handled consistently.
- Review and correct machine-generated bounding boxes.
- Find and label objects missed by AI models.
- Annotate objects in daylight or thermal imagery.
- Apply labeling guidelines consistently across images.
- Deliver accurate imagery annotations and maintain steady throughput.
- Record ambiguous cases and communicate guideline questions clearly.
- Adapt to video-frame annotation if the project expands.
What it pays and takes
This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity for contributors based in the United States. Prior AI experience is not required, but careful and consistent work is essential.
- $30 to $60 per hour.
- Remote work for candidates in the United States.
- Part-time contractor role.
- Candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Common Access Card or participate in the sponsorship process.
- Professional fluency in English, with clear written and verbal communication.
- Familiarity with aerial, maritime, or sensor-based imagery, including daylight or thermal formats.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency for repetitive, accuracy-critical work.
- Experience with data labeling, bounding-box annotation, or related data preparation is valuable.
- Comfort using dedicated labeling applications and learning new tools.
- Experience with high-volume quality-controlled annotation, robotics, autonomous systems, or defense projects is helpful.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
The hiring platform's application for this job asks for your resume, your LinkedIn profile, your phone number, your location and answers to 8 screening questions.
About AI training work
AI training work uses human-reviewed examples to help artificial intelligence systems recognize and respond more accurately. Imagery analysts are paid for careful domain knowledge and consistent labeling that improves how models interpret visual data.
