The work
You will improve training data used to help AI systems understand drone and maritime sensor imagery. The work starts with still images in a secure Navy environment and may expand to video-frame annotation as the project develops.
- Review and refine machine-generated bounding boxes on drone and maritime still images.
- Find and annotate objects that automated systems miss.
- Apply detailed labeling guidelines consistently across completed images.
- Submit accurate image annotations in a secure Navy environment.
- Maintain dependable throughput during repetitive, quality-controlled work.
- Record ambiguous cases and communicate questions about labeling guidelines clearly.
- Support video-frame annotation if the project expands beyond still images.
What it pays and takes
Previous AI experience is not required, but careful and consistent work is important because the annotations are used to improve AI training data.
- $20 to $60 per hour.
- Part-time contractor work.
- Remote work open to candidates in the United States.
- English fluency for reading instructions, documenting questions, and communicating decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in accuracy-critical tasks.
- Familiarity with aerial, maritime, thermal, or other sensor-based imagery.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Comfort learning dedicated annotation applications and following detailed instructions.
- Experience with data labeling, bounding boxes, image annotation, or related data preparation is useful but not required.
- Experience with high-volume quality-controlled annotation, robotics data, autonomous systems, daylight imagery, or thermal imagery can help.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
The hiring platform's application for this job asks for your resume, your LinkedIn profile, your phone number, your location and answers to 8 screening questions.
About AI training work
AI training work is the human side of building artificial intelligence. People prepare and review examples such as labeled images so AI models can recognize objects and respond more accurately.
Experienced contributors are often paid for their subject knowledge, careful judgment, and ability to follow detailed quality standards.
