Engineering Manager, LLM Training

You will lead large technical teams delivering supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning from human feedback work for language models. The role combines engineering management, hands-on technical review, and responsibility for reliable project delivery.

You will work with teams using Python, JavaScript, Java, and other programming languages. You will also collaborate with research stakeholders and manage team performance, delivery outcomes, dataset quality, throughput, and project cost.

• Lead teams of 20 or more developers across multiple programming languages.
• Oversee technical work from project start through stable delivery.
• Review supervised fine-tuning and RLHF datasets for quality and consistency.
• Find and resolve issues in questions, methods, result communication, and code bugs.
• Use practical quality measures to improve code and delivered work.
• Manage team performance, project quality, and delivery outcomes.

• Language: Fluent English.
• Experience: At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Management experience: At least 3 years managing engineering teams.
• Technical skills: Strong Python or Java skills, ideally with JavaScript experience.
• Leadership: Experience leading large technical teams in a delivery-focused environment.
• Review skills: Ability to perform hands-on technical reviews and resolve quality issues.
• People skills: Strong communication, people leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Helpful background: Experience supporting artificial intelligence, machine learning, supervised fine-tuning, reinforcement learning from human feedback, or high-quality technical datasets.
