The work
You will help evaluate how well AI systems handle real embedded systems and RF engineering work. You will create realistic technical problems and assess generated answers, designs, calculations, and recommendations.
The work covers embedded firmware, digital signal processing, RF systems, wireless communications, hardware and software integration, and embedded debugging. You will work independently and provide clear feedback that helps improve model performance.
- Create expert-level scenarios based on embedded design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Review AI-generated work for technical accuracy, practical feasibility, sound assumptions, and alignment with professional engineering practice.
- Evaluate firmware architectures, signal analysis, RF designs, communications systems, calculations, methods, and technical recommendations.
- Write structured feedback covering strengths, errors, risks, and ways the work could improve.
What it pays and takes
This is an ongoing, project-based contractor opportunity that can be completed alongside another role. Work is remote and asynchronous, and the role is open to candidates in the United States.
- Pay: Up to $120 per hour.
- Time: 20 or more hours per week.
- Language: Fluent English.
- Experience: At least two years of hands-on industry experience in embedded systems, digital signal processing, RF, or a related engineering field.
- Education: A master's or doctoral degree in electrical, electronics, computer engineering, or a closely related field. A bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering may qualify with strong industry experience.
- Expertise: Depth in at least one area such as embedded firmware, real-time or safety-critical systems, digital signal processing, RF circuit or system design, antenna and electromagnetic systems, wireless communications, hardware and software integration, or embedded hardware testing.
- Communication: Strong written communication, close attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex engineering ideas clearly.
- Work style: Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous setting. Candidates who meet two of the three core criteria are also encouraged to apply.
- Useful tools and background: MATLAB or Simulink, Python, SPICE, LTspice, Altium, KiCad, GNU Radio, microcontrollers, FPGAs, SoCs, RF test equipment, software-defined radios, PCB design, signal integrity, EMI or EMC, hardware validation, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, GNSS, or LoRa.
- Relevant industries include embedded systems, semiconductors, telecommunications, aerospace, defense, automotive, consumer electronics, and engineering technology.

About AI training work
AI training work uses human judgment to help artificial intelligence systems learn from examples and produce better answers. In this role, your engineering experience helps assess whether AI-generated technical work is accurate, practical, and professionally sound.
People with specialized experience are needed because models must learn how real engineering decisions, calculations, testing, and constraints work in practice.
