The work
You will create original, end-to-end data science problems based on realistic analytical work across industries such as telecom, finance, government, e-commerce, and healthcare. The problems should reflect business needs including fraud detection, forecasting, optimization, risk, and customer analytics.
You will write Python-based tasks covering data ingestion, cleaning, exploratory analysis, feature engineering, modeling, validation, and deployment considerations. You will also check solutions with standard data science libraries and provide clear documentation.
The work includes writing prompts and responses, generating text, creating question-and-answer tasks, rating answers, summarizing text, and producing programming and coding problems. Problems must be computationally demanding, reproducible, and designed so that answers can be verified.
- Create computational data science problems that are not reasonably solvable by hand.
- Use fixed random seeds and other methods to avoid unclear or inconsistent results.
- Design workflows that reflect real business and analytical requirements.
- Verify correct answers with standard data science tools and libraries.
What it pays and takes
This is a global, part-time contractor role for an expert-level data science professional. The work is project-based rather than permanent, with active project availability expected at 20 or more hours per week.
- Pay: $15 to $40 per hour, paid in USD.
- Location: Open worldwide.
- Language: Fluent English, with written proficiency at C1 level or higher.
- Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on data science experience with demonstrated business impact.
- Python: Expert use of Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, and statsmodels.
- SQL: Expert skills with complex joins, aggregations, window functions, and database operations.
- Statistics and machine learning: Strong knowledge of feature engineering, model selection, evaluation, and error analysis.
- Workflow design: Experience with ingestion, cleaning, exploratory analysis, modeling, and validation.
- Visualization: Comfortable with Matplotlib; Seaborn experience is a plus.
- Scalable processing: Familiarity with partitioning, performance concerns, and memory constraints.
- GenAI: Experience with large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, and vector databases.
- Deployment: Understanding of packaging, reproducibility, monitoring basics, and other model operations workflows.
- Frameworks: Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch; LangChain experience is a bonus.
- Communication: Able to write clear business problem statements and documentation in English.
