The work
Create challenging chemistry problems based on real simulation, modeling, and reaction workflows. Review AI-generated answers and explain whether their methods and conclusions are scientifically sound.
- Check responses for technical accuracy, reproducibility, and alignment with established chemistry practice.
- Write structured feedback that identifies weaknesses and can help improve AI model performance.
- Complete project tasks remotely and asynchronously.
What it pays and takes
- Pay: Up to $65 per hour.
- Time commitment: 20+ hours per week. The work is project-based and has no set schedule.
- Location: Open to candidates in the UK.
- Expertise in computational, physical, or theoretical chemistry.
- A PhD in a relevant chemistry discipline, or a master's degree combined with pharmaceutical or materials industry experience.
- First-author publications or experience running production-scale simulation or DFT workflows.
- Demonstrated depth in at least two of these areas is encouraged: quantum chemistry, molecular dynamics, cheminformatics, and reaction or thermodynamic modeling.
- Strong written communication and the ability to explain complex chemistry concepts clearly.
- Fluent written English and the ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous setting.
- Experience with tools such as Gaussian, ORCA, Psi4, VASP, GROMACS, LAMMPS, and RDKit is helpful. Production simulation or DFT pipeline experience in pharmaceutical, materials, or energy research is also useful.
