The Work
You will lead quality assurance for civil engineering content used in AI training projects. The work focuses on checking technical accuracy, clarity, safety, and alignment with detailed project guidelines.
You will also help improve reviewer consistency, support onboarding, maintain project materials, and surface recurring quality issues across remote technical workflows.
- Review civil engineering explanations, calculations, diagrams, and problem-solving workflows.
- Check units, assumptions, safety recommendations, standards, and instruction-following.
- Give written feedback to trainers and quality reviewers.
- Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, examples, calibration tasks, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
- Support onboarding and training calls.
- Communicate updates clearly through remote team tools and help improve quality processes.
What It Pays and Takes
This is a remote, part-time contractor role supporting civil engineering quality work for AI training projects.
- Pay: Up to $105 per hour.
- Time: 20+ hours per week.
- Location: Open to candidates in the United States.
- Language: Strong English communication skills.
- Experience level: Entry level.
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- Experience: At least 3 years in civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation, construction, or technical review.
- Knowledge of statics, structural analysis, soil mechanics, foundations, hydraulics, transportation systems, and construction materials.
- Ability to assess technical work against rubrics and identify calculation, reasoning, and safety issues.
- Experience with AI training, rubric-based language model evaluation, or remote quality assurance is preferred.
- Helpful tools include AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS or QGIS, Bluebeam, Excel, MATLAB, and Python.

About AI Training Work
AI training is the human work behind artificial intelligence. People review examples, rate model outputs, and give precise feedback so AI systems can produce more accurate and useful results. Civil engineering expertise matters here because reviewers must recognize sound calculations, safe recommendations, and correct technical reasoning.
