The work
You will review AI-generated biomedical engineering explanations, diagrams, problem-solving steps, and trainer quality submissions. Your feedback will help improve accuracy, safety, clarity, and consistency across biomedical engineering AI training projects.
- Check biomedical reasoning, calculations, unit consistency, safety considerations, standards awareness, regulatory claims, and instruction-following.
- Evaluate work against detailed project rubrics and identify flaws in assumptions, calculations, standards references, or safety reasoning.
- Write precise quality feedback and flag recommendations that could be unsafe, misleading, or overconfident.
- Share quality expectations and workflow updates with trainers and quality reviewers in a clear, structured way.
- Document quality notes, style guidance, FAQs, examples, honeypots, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.
- Identify recurring issues, improve workflows, and support onboarding and activation of contributors whose work is inconsistent.
What it pays and takes
This is a remote, part-time contractor role focused on biomedical engineering quality assurance. The work requires strong technical judgment and clear written communication in English.
- Pay: $105 per hour.
- Time: 20+ hours per week.
- Location: Open to candidates in the United States.
- Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, medical engineering, biomechanical engineering, electrical engineering with a biomedical focus, mechanical engineering with a biomedical focus, or a closely related field.
- Experience: 3 or more years in biomedical engineering, medical devices, biomechanics, biomaterials, bioinstrumentation, clinical engineering, research and development, regulatory documentation, technical review, engineering education, or related work.
- Skills: Evaluate biomedical content against detailed rubrics and identify issues with assumptions, calculations, units, standards, safety reasoning, and regulatory context.
- Tools and workflows: Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, CAD or CAE tools, signal processing, medical device documentation, ISO or FDA-related documentation, or biomedical data analysis tools.
- Preferred: Experience supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, engineers, technical writers, or quality reviewers.
- Helpful background: AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, technical content quality assurance, biomedical content quality assurance, or rubric-based LLM evaluation.
- Helpful working style: Comfort with remote collaboration tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.

About AI training work
AI training is the human work behind systems that learn from examples. People review and improve model responses, technical reasoning, images, audio, and other data, while subject-matter experts help models produce safer and more accurate results.
