About this role OpenTrain is recruiting a Biomedical Engineering AI Evaluation Expert to help improve large language models through specialized prompt development, topic research, and evaluation of AI-generated responses. You will apply biomedical engineering expertise to assess how well models understand and explain important concepts in the field while working independently in an asynchronous environment.
What you will do
- Develop prompts focused on biomedical engineering topics and specialized subdomains.
- Research topics of professional or academic interest with assistance from AI.
- Evaluate large language model responses for understanding, accuracy, and quality of explanation.
- Apply subject-matter judgment to identify where AI-generated answers are strong or require improvement.
- Contribute to AI research work that may vary according to available biomedical engineering projects.
Required skills
- Junior, senior, or graduate standing with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering.
- Graduation from, or current attendance at, a top 20 undergraduate institution.
- Strong ability to understand and explain key biomedical engineering concepts.
- Ability to participate in primarily asynchronous work.
- U.S. location and valid work or training authorization, including eligible F-1/OPT, J-1, or H-1B status where applicable.
Helpful background Experience researching biomedical engineering topics, writing technically precise prompts, or critically evaluating technical explanations can help you succeed in this work. Clear written communication and confidence comparing AI responses against your own domain expertise are valuable for this role.
Work style This is remote, asynchronous work with flexible scheduling and an expected commitment of approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. Project assignments may vary based on biomedical engineering project availability. OpenTrain helps you organize specialized AI training opportunities and build an AI training portfolio across platforms.
