The work
You will help evaluate AI systems that handle bioinformatics and computational biology. The work focuses on real research workflows, pipeline design, sequence analysis, and practical computational biology methods.
- Create challenging bioinformatics problems and scenarios based on research and pipeline workflows.
- Review AI-generated computational biology responses for technical accuracy and reproducibility.
- Assess whether proposed approaches match how bioinformatics work is done in practice.
- Write clear, structured feedback that can improve AI model performance.
- Use independent judgment while working remotely and asynchronously.
What it pays and takes
This is ongoing, project-based contract work. The role is listed as part-time, with flexible participation and no set schedule or minimum hour requirement in the role description.
- Pay: Up to $47 per hour.
- Location: Open to candidates in the United States.
- Language: Fluency in English.
- Experience: Substantial industry or research experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a related field.
- Education: A PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or a comparable quantitative or life sciences field, or an MS with strong industry experience.
- Research: First-author publications and experience owning substantial bioinformatics pipelines.
- Technical depth: NGS or genomics pipelines and sequence analysis, statistical genetics, or structural biology.
- Skills: Strong writing, careful attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex biological concepts clearly.
- Helpful tools: BWA, GATK, samtools, BLAST, Biopython, PyMOL, AlphaFold, R, Bioconductor, and other bioinformatics software environments.
- Helpful experience: Owning complete genomics or NGS sequencing pipelines in academic or industry research.
