The Work
You will create realistic backend coding challenges for AI systems. These tasks will cover feature implementation and software bug fixes, with clear standards for deciding whether a solution works.
- Design challenging scenarios that test practical software engineering judgment.
- Build deterministic verifiers that accept valid solutions and reject invalid ones.
- Use code review skills to assess solution quality and correctness.
- Apply debugging, performance analysis, automated testing, and refactoring skills.
- Work with services, APIs, codebases, algorithms, and data structures as appropriate for each task.
What It Pays and Takes
This is an individual contractor opportunity with a flexible schedule.
- $30 to $100 per hour equivalent, paid per task that meets the project specifications.
- Approximately 15 hours per week, with a flexible schedule.
- Location: Open to candidates in Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Peru, the Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
- Fluent in English and able to communicate technical ideas clearly.
- Professional backend development experience with Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++, or a similar language.
- Experience building scalable services and APIs, diagnosing bugs and system bottlenecks, and implementing complex features.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science.
- Comfort with automated testing, code review, analytical problem-solving, and refactoring large applications.
- Experience writing unit tests, designing test strategies, diagnosing flaky tests, or maintaining continuous integration pipelines is useful.
- Prior AI training experience is not required.
How it works
You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.
About AI Training Work
AI training work is the human work behind systems that generate and understand code, text, images, and other content. People with strong technical experience help create useful examples and reliable tests so AI systems can produce better results.
